Psalm
90:1: Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
If
there is one thing nearly every person hopes for, it is a place to call home.
Whether that is a structure or town or even a person or family, we all seek a
place that is safe for us to be ourselves. Many of us hope for home, but we
don’t always find it where we thought we would.
The
Psalmist writes that the Lord has already given this to us, for the Lord is our
dwelling place. It is in the Lord that we are loved and with whom we are cared
for; the Lord is our home for which we have hoped.
PRAYER
Holy God, during this season of Advent, remind us that you are our dwelling place, for in you, we find hope. Amen.
